Grandma's Old Fashion Chocolate Cake Recipes

Chocolate is one of the most popular type of cake all over the world. Remember the wonderful chocolate cake from your childhood? Perhaps one of these great recipes to bring back that flavor and wonderful memories for you. Here are three varieties, you're sure to find one. Cherry Devil's Food Cake is easy enough for beginning bakers. It uses a box mix and a few simple steps to a great pie. Cherry Devil's Food Cake

1 package Devil's Food cake mix

2 cups whipped cream increase frozen, thawed

1 / 2 cup chopped maraschino cherries

1 recipe of your favorite chocolate frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch layer cake pans. Prepare cake mix as directed on the packaging. Divide the batter evenly between the two pots. Bake and cool as directed onthe package.

Fold the maraschino cherry in the whipped cream topping. Spread over the top of one of the layers. Top mixture with the second layer of cake. Frost with chocolate frosting. Store cakes in the fridge.

Dark chocolate CAKE

1 1 / 2 cups cake flour

1 1 / 2 cups sugar

1 cup buttermilk

1 / 3 cup shortening

3 egg whites

3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

Oven at 350Degree.

Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, measure all ingredients, mix with electric mixer at low speed, beat until well mixed, constantly scraping bowl. Beat at high speed for 5 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl. Pour batter into pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes. Cool layers in pans on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cakes from pans and cool completely on wire rack. Frost with your favorite frosting.

DUTCH CHOCOLATE MOCHA CAKE

3 cupssifted cake flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

3 / 4 cup cocoa

2 3 / 4 cups sugar

1 / 2 teaspoon salt

1 cup hot coffee

1 cup sweet butter

1 cup sour cream

2 tsp vanilla extract

5 egg whites

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease three 9-inch baking molds. Flour, baking powder and salt together and sift thrice. Combine cocoa, 1 / 2 cup of sugar and coffee. Cool. Butter and 1 1 / 2 cups sugar until creamybeat until fluffy. Add cocoa mixture, sour cream and vanilla. Add flour mixture, stir until smooth. Beat egg whites with remaining sugar until stiff. Fold into the batter. Pour batter into pans and bake 30 minutes. Cool and remove from pans. Frost with your favorite frosting.

Old Fashion Recipe For Spiral Blackberry Cobbler

Sometimes the best way to move forward to step back in time. I know that sounds confusing, but when it comes to cooking, some of our best recipes in the back. Remember the delicious baked goods, the Grandma's come out of the oven? When I was a child, my grandmother cooked on an old wood stove. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that some of my best meals were cooked on the old stove. And the best part was the way they sit Schuster, etc over the warmer and keep warm hours on the cold days of Indiana. If you are reminded of your childhood meals, try to give this spiral Blackberry Cobbler. (Of course you can also use other berries, to your taste, or what is adapting available in your area.) If you do not have fresh berries available, use unsweetened frozen berries.

SPIRAL BLACKBERRY Schuster

Dough:
1 1 / 2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 / 2 cup shortening
1 / 2 cup milk

Mix flour,> Baking powder and salt. Cut in the shortening into a crumb-like mixture. Blend in milk to make a dough. Roll out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 9 x 13 inch form.

FILLING:

3 cups fresh blackberries, divided
2 cups water
1 stick butter
1 1 / 2 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar

Place in a small bowl, mash represent 1 / 2 cup of the blackberries and set aside.

Melt the butter in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Mix the remaining 2 1 / 2 cups blackberries with 1 1 / 2Cups of sugar. Spread mixture over the dough and roll up jelly roll style, rolling from the long side. Cut roll into 1-inch slices. Place slices of the butter in the pan. Pour the crushed berries and water mixture over the slices. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar over the top. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until lightly browned. Cool about 10 minutes before serving.
